As an RYA Recognised Training Establishment (RTE) and a member of the ‘Onboard’ scheme, the Club runs training courses for members and their families. The Club is also a Volvo Champion Club which provides further assistance in developing the racing skills of our young members.
The training is run by Club volunteers who are qualified as RYA Senior Instructors, Dinghy Instructors or Assistant Instructors. The RYA courses which can be delivered are Adult levels 1&2, Youth levels 1-4, Seamanship skills, Sailing with Spinnakers, and Start Racing.
Powerboat and Safety Boat courses are also run to assist the main activity of the club by providing safe competent drivers for the rescue boats which accompany sailing and racing at the club.
The club is registered to deliver shore based courses including first aid and has recently run a successful cruising course and a VHF SRC course.
